Introduction LISA Production

Since CCE has aimed at production companies for years, we have accumulated expertise in diverse sectors. LISA Production is a complete and modular package that helps production processes run more efficiently and cheaply without changing the flow of goods drastically. LISA Production is suitable for companies that work by order, in stock, or in combination.

When producing finished or semi-finished products, the terms Bill of Material, MRP (Material Requirement Planning), CRP (Capacity Requirement Planning), and Work Orders recur frequently. Production is complex since all company links must be attuned to each other. The production manager must have the status of machines, stock of raw materials and semi-manufactured products, planning, etc. in an organised manner.

To control all this complexity efficiently, LISA Production has four main tables that form the basis of this application:

  • machines
  • production lines (group of machines)
  • item structure (management and consultation of the item lists [bom])
  • production steps

Before producing, the system needs data from the sales or stock module depending on how the company works (by order, in stock, combination, etc.) in order to generate work orders. If the company works by order then the sales orders form the basis for calculating the work orders. If the company works in stock then stock parameters like safety and minimum stock form the basis for calculating the work orders. You immediately notice that the integration of different modules plays a crucial factor in steering the production smoothly.

After the MRP-calculation has proposed work orders, a summary of the capacity utilisation of the machines is given based on the “production steps” table. This gives the production manager a global view of the required capacity (CRP) and he/she can follow up the production output. An additional tool in the production module is “production time registration”. This data is input into LISA via external time registration equipment. This optimises personnel planning and cost price calculations are performed more accurately.

An important part of the production environment is the Bill of Material. Since a “bom” is constructed from different levels, we have a work order per level. In LISA Production the number of bom levels is unlimited.

How does the system of work orders work?

You can make a new work order either manually or via the MRP-calculation, which proposes work orders based on the sales or stock data. If you decide to produce the item, the work order is released. The planning manager can make adaptations at the level of quantity and time or date. This can be influenced by lot size, grouping periods, etc. Once the item is produced, the work order is cancelled. By doing so the stock of used raw materials, parts and finished product will be adapted automatically if they are parameterised with “back flushing”.
